Definition of Accessory Living Quarters Amended

CITY ORDINANCE PASSED AMENDING DEFINITION OF ACCESSORY LIVING QUARTERS

 PULLMAN, WA—On Tuesday, November 28th, Ordinance 23-17 was passed by the Pullman City Council. This ordinance amends the definition of accessory living quarters in regards to Pullman City Code Section 17.05.020(3). A public hearing was held on this matter by the Planning Commission on October 25th.

Accessory Living Quarters Now Defined As:

Living quarters, including guest houses, which may include kitchen facilities, located within an accessory building or the principal building and not otherwise used as a separate dwelling.

Previous Definition:

Living quarters, including guest houses, which may include kitchen facilities, located within an accessory building or the principal building for the sole use of the family or persons employed on the premises and not rented or otherwise used as a separate dwelling.

 There are no changes to short-term rentals – Airbnb, Vrbo, etc. – as it relates to the accessory living quarters definition.
