Darren Jones

Darren comes to the Pullman Fire Department from Washington State University where he worked for 24 years.  Darren was the WSU Fire & Safety Compliance Officer for six years.  Prior to that, he served the WSU community as a Campus Police Officer for 16 years. 

Darren began his firefighting career in 1992 volunteering with Grays Harbor Fire District #2.  While attending college he went on to work as a resident firefighter with WSU Fire Services.  After graduating Darren volunteered with Spokane County Fire District #4 in Deer Park and Chattaroy.  He has been a commissioned Peace Officer in the State of Washington since 2000.

He earned an Associate of Science Degree in Business Administration from Grays Harbor Community College; a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Washington State University; and a Master’s in Business Administration from Western Governor’s University.

Darren holds certifications from the International Code Council (ICC) as Fire Inspector I, Fire Inspector II, Fire Plans Examiner, Fire Code Specialist, and Fire Marshal. Additionally, he is a Certified Fire Investigator through the International Association of Arson Investigators (IAAI).
