Andrew Chiavaras

Andrew received his Bachelor’s Degree in Business from the University of Idaho. Continuing his education over the years, Andrew has earned and holds certifications as a Paramedic, Senior EMS Instructor, EMS Evaluator, Pro Board Incident Safety Officer, and an IFSAC Fire Officer II Instructor.

Andrew started his fire service journey as a Resident Firefighter in 2003 for the City of Moscow, Idaho. In 2007 he joined the Pullman Fire Department as a Firefighter/Paramedic. During his career with the Pullman Fire Department, he served as the IAFF Local 1892 Vice President, and President, and has gained experience as a flight paramedic.

In 2016 Andrew was promoted to Lieutenant. As a Lieutenant, he earned his Senior EMS Instructor Certification from the State of Washington and completed the Managing Officer Program at the National Fire Academy. Additionally, during this time, he was appointed the Paramedic Program Director for LCSC from 2019-2022.

Among his many other accomplishments, Andrew was instrumental in designing and implementing the department's current EMS Reserve Training Program and continues to manage the program as lead instructor for the Reserve Firefighter Academy. In 2022 Andrew was promoted to shift Captain, and shortly thereafter, in May of 2023 promoted to Assistant Fire Chief - Support Services.
