Ryan Scharnhorst



Ryan returned to Pullman in 2009 after working for a number of years in Wisconsin as a Firefighter/Paramedic. He served as Pullman Fire Department's Deputy Chief of Training for six years, where he oversaw all aspects of training before being promoted to his current position as Assistant Fire Chief and Chief Operations Officer in 2013.

Ryan possesses a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, is a Washington State certified Paramedic, and serves as a Type 3 Planning Section Chief for the SE Washington Incident Management Team. Ryan is the past President of the Quad County Fire Chief’s Association and is currently enrolled in the National Fire Academy's Executive Fire Officer program.
