Death Investigation of WSU Student: Update #1
PULLMAN – The identity of the 19-year-old male found deceased earlier today at the Alpha Tau Omega fraternity has been confirmed as Samuel Martinez. Mr. Martinez was a freshman at Washington State University and his home town is Bellevue, Washington. The Whitman County Coroner’s Office is working with the Pullman Police Department to determine the cause and manner of death.
Reported Earlier Today:
On November 12, 2019, at about 8:35 am, Whitcom dispatched Pullman Police officers and Pullman Fire medics to 710 NE Linden Street; Alpha Tau Omega fraternity, for a 19-year-old male fraternity member that appeared unconscious and not breathing. Fraternity members performed CPR until medics arrived.
Medics determined the male was deceased. A preliminary investigation indicates the death may be alcohol-related. The Whitman County Coroner responded to determine the official manner and cause of death. The investigation is ongoing.
