Felony Eluding Arrest Possibly Related to Moscow Shooting

PULLMAN – On Saturday, January 10 at about 2:58 pm, a Pullman Police Officer observed a vehicle matching the description of a vehicle possibly involved in a shooting in Moscow traveling west on Hwy. 270 between Moscow and Pullman. When officers attempted the stop the vehicle in Pullman, the driver and lone occupant sped away from the officers, continuing west on Hwy 270 and then north on Hwy. 195 with Pullman officers in pursuit. The suspect vehicle was unsafely passing other vehicles northbound on 195 and at times exceeded 100 MPH. Colfax PD officers and Washington State Patrol troopers blocked off cross street traffic as the pursuit traveled through Colfax. At about 3:20 pm, the suspect vehicle left the roadway northbound 195 at milepost 47 and rolled. Pullman officers, assisted by Whitman County Sheriff’s deputies and Washington State Patrol troopers, took the suspect into custody without further incident. The pursuit covered a distance of approximately 24 miles.

Arrested for felony eluding was John Lee, a 29 year old male who provided a Moscow address. Mr. Lee was transported by ambulance to Whitman Hospital and Medical Center in Colfax for what appears to be minor injuries. If medically cleared at the hospital, Mr. Lee will be transported to Whitman County Jail on charges of felony eluding, a class C felony. Pullman officers will be collaborating with investigators from Moscow PD regarding any possible charges related to the shooting in Moscow.

Requests for information about the shooting in Moscow, ID should be directed to the Moscow Police Department.
