Seized Evidence

Many times police officers will seize items from a crime scene as evidence.  Sometimes the property can be returned to the victim of the crime immediately or after a short processing period.  Unfortunately there are times when the property cannot be released due to the seriousness of the offense.  One of the most frequent comments made to the Property and Evidence Specialist by victims of crimes is that they feel like they are being victimized by the criminal and again by the criminal justice system.  This is a perfectly understandable response.

If you have been the victim of a crime and are wondering when you can claim your property, please call the property officer and we will make every effort to find out if and when your property can be returned.  Please see the contact information below and include your case number or enough information about yourself so that the property record can be located.
