Celebrating Our Veterans and the Tradition of Decoration Day

Friday May 26, 2017

Celebration 6:00 PM

Neill Public Library, Hecht Meeting Room

Decoration Day started in 1868 to honor Civil War veterans.  Within 20 years the name was changed to Memorial Day to commemorate all American veterans.  Join with us as we honor our Whitman County Veterans, and their families, for their selfless service to our country.

Celebration highlights include a Color Guard by a Pullman Boy Scout Troop 460, a patriotic music performance by the Merry Minstrels and book donation by Friends of Hospice. We are grateful to have a local Veteran who will speak to us, as well.
